A former Vice President in Deutsche Bank Operations, Michelle has integrated her experience in finance and corporate management with her personal values, her life experiences, her education, her passion for lifelong learning and her relationships to make a difference in diverse contexts and communities. At Deutsche Bank, she was a trailblazer leading the way in client project management, Total Quality Management (TQM) as a Six Sigma Black Belt, and as a champion for corporate social responsibility, multicultural partnerships, mentoring and sponsoring relationships.
Upon leaving Deutsche Bank in 2010, Michelle founded WeEmpower Partnership LLC and Making A Difference through Entrepreneurship LLC to leverage business, community, and academia resources. Her mission is to facilitate, partner, advocate and empower herself and others through career readiness; professional development; entrepreneurship technical assistance and business support primarily serving underserved communities, youth and women. She is an Entrepreneurship, College and Career Readiness consultant and volunteer in K-12, Higher Education and the community. She serves on Project U.S.E., Greater Newark Enterprise Corporation (GNEC) and New Jersey Institute of Technology School of Management advisory boards. She also serves on the Essex County Vicinage Committee on Diversity, she chairs the Mental Health subcommittee she serves on the New Jersey Institute of Technology’s Advancement Committee and she serves as the Chairperson of the Essex County Employment Network.
Dr. Scott serves as an adjunct professor at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), Fairleigh Dickinson University, Essex County College and Colorado Technical University facilitating Management, Business, Organizational Behavior, Ethics and Leadership courses. She also mentors undergraduate and graduate external student internships. Among her recognitions, Dr. Scott received the Women’s History Month Teacher Recognition at Fairleigh Dickinson University; and Promises Delivered’s Woman of Distinction Award. The award Michele holds dear is The George Washington University Ralph Stone Servant Leadership Award.
Dr. Scott earned an Ed.D. in Human Resource Development at The George Washington University; she earned a Certification in Advanced Project Management from Stanford University; M.S. Management, New Jersey Institute of Technology; and a B.S. Business Administration, Delaware State University. She is a Leadership New Jersey Fellow.
Michelle is an avid stationary cyclist; she enjoys B/W classic movies, watching football and tennis.
